The Mosquito Killing Systems (MKS) use a standard 20lb. CO2 tank. The tank used by the MKS is the same tank used extensively in the beverage industry. Because CO2 is non-flammable, non-explosive, and non-toxic it is easy to store and transport.
CO2 tanks can be purchased, leased or rented depending on the supplier you are using. If you do purchase a 20lb. tank, anticipate in the range of $100-130.00 USD. Refills range from $15-25 USD. A 20 pound CO2 tank will last approximately 28-31 days when the unit is used on an automatic mode. The CO2 expense is about $25 per month.
CO2 regulators are not universal. The MKS units are shipped with ___ size regulators. Universal adaptors are available to attach your co2 with the regulator. Inquire with your CO2 supplier regarding the adaptors. Also ask your CO2 supplier if they offer a delivery service. For a small fee they may pick up your empty tank and supply you will a full tank.
CO2 is an environmentally friendly, safe gas. It is the gas that we exhale. Mosquitoes are attracted to the CO2 gas. CO2 is a non combustible gas as compared to the propane on comparable mosquito units.
My co2 company will get back to me with the size of the US regulators so we can list that on the website and people can plan accordingly.
